This is a plea for funding of a building for the Nyabera church of Christ, Waundha, Kenya
I have been working as a Student Helper with World Bible School. In that time I have facilitated leading a couple of young men to Christ. I found that the church near by is Nyabera church of Christ. I was introduced to the youth minister and ministry preacher and ultimately to the three elders overseeing the church.
As you can see they are in need of funds for a new building. Atlanta Road church of Christ under the guidance of the elders have agreed to collect and Distribute the funds in support of the Nyabera church.

Meet the Leaders of Nyabera church of Christ (Kenya)
God has richly blessed the Nyabera church of Christ with faithful leadership. Over the past 32 years, this congregation has grown from just 4 members to over 80 adults and more than 100 youth and children—guided by a team committed to sound doctrine, spiritual growth, and mission work.
Elders of Nyabera church of Christ
These men serve as shepherds of the congregation, providing spiritual oversight, teaching, and pastoral care:
- Elder Elly Otieno
Elly has faithfully served the church for many years and currently oversees mission work, including the planting and nurturing of 11 sister congregations in the region. At 62 years old, his wisdom and leadership continue to be a vital part of the church’s ministry. - Elder Philip Olo
A dedicated servant of the Lord, Philip plays a key role in guiding the spiritual direction and unity of the congregation. - Elder Paul Wasonga
Paul serves alongside his fellow elders with humility and faith, helping shepherd the growing flock in Nyabera.
Preachers Serving the Church
- Preacher George Oscar
George is the son of the church’s original founder. He was entrusted with the leadership of the church in its early years and has helped grow the congregation through sound preaching and discipleship. George continues to serve faithfully, supporting the elders in teaching and leadership. - Preacher Chris
Chris is a dynamic preacher currently serving full-time at Bamgot church of Christ, one of the churches planted by the Nyabera congregation. He also supports preaching and youth ministry at Nyabera when needed. Baptized and trained through the support of the church, Chris has been preaching for nearly 9 years. His heart for the youth and evangelism is a tremendous asset to the church community.
These leaders serve without financial support, yet remain steadfast in their mission. Their selfless dedication is an inspiring example of faith in action. Please keep them in your prayers as they continue to build up the Church and spread the gospel throughout their region.
