How to improve your Government

Being new to Georgia Politics I have a keen interest on how to communicate with my elected official. There are some new tools available through the Secretary of State office that can help you get started.

The first question most beginners ask is, how do I know who to talk to or send an e-mail?

The answer is by way of your voter ID. We have a tutorial on the Votescope.org website following this link. About This is assuming you have registered to vote. If you have not registered go to the same link and when you get to MyVoterPage there is a button to register to vote.

Once you have the voter ID you can go to the Georgia General Assembly website, instructions are here – Georgia General Assembly . This will give you your State Senator and State Representative contact information, phone number and e-mail address. There is other useful information identified on that website. Take a look and familiarize yourself with the information.

There is important information to include in any correspondence. That is to mention that you are a constituent of the Senator or Representative you are contacting.

Example E-mail:

Senator Shelly Echols,

I understand SB 140 has passed through the Health and Human Service Committee and will now be considered by the Rules Committee.

This bill will prohibit hospitals and other licensed healthcare facilities from performing gender altering surgeries and from administering gender altering hormone therapy on minors.

Please Google the following “Major Association of US Doctors Makes Official Statement on Transgender Procedures for Minors – Says ‘high probability of causing sterilization,’ among other warnings”

Protecting our minor children should always be a top priority for all of us, especially our State Legislators.

Thank you in advance for passing SB140 to protect our minor children from gender mutilation and from gender altering hormones.

Most sincerely,
