Getting Started with Vote Scope
Our goal at Vote Scope is to put the voters of Georgia back in charge of the state government. In order to do that we need to communicate with our elected officials, or I like to say public servants. The elected officials mainly pay attention to their constituents or those who they have been elected to represent.
So how do we identify the elected officials that should be listening to us?
Obtaining your voter registration card
Here are two ways to get your voter information. Download the GA SOS app for Android or iPhone or use this link to go to My Voter Page on the Secretary of State website. MyVoterPage
Enter the required information: First Initial, Last Name, County, and Date of Birth. Press “Submit”. You will be presented with a page with 5 tabs; “My Registration Information”, “My Voting Location”, “Voter Participation History”, “Absentee Ballot Portal”, and “My Districts & Elected Officials”.
Voter ID
Every Voter has a unique Voter ID. It is listed under the “My Registration Information” tab as “Voter Registration Number”. Make sure your resident information is correct as it determines the rest of the information. If it is wrong, please press the “Update Voter Information” button near the bottom of the page and correct it. Your voter information is available as public information usually for a fee from the Secretary of State (SOS) official website and can be obtained by county or the whole state.
Precinct and Voting location
Your county, precinct and voting location is located under the “My Voting Location” tab. Georgia SOS has dropped the precinct noun and is now referring to the precinct as a number only. The current voting location is listed.
Voter Participation History
The “Voter Participation History” tab is a new feature, and the voter can look at their voting history to see if their vote has been registered as cast during previous elections.
Absentee Ballot Portal
This is where you submit for an absentee ballot. It also shows your Absentee Ballot history.
My Districts & Elected Officials
This is the most important page as long as your voter registration information is correct. It identifies the elected officials that represent you. Additional information will be coming that requires you know your State Senator or State house of representative or other elected officials.
